Crowns & Bridges – Restorative Solutions for Damaged or Missing Teeth

Crowns & Bridges

Damaged or missing teeth can affect not only your smile but also your ability to chew, speak, and maintain overall oral health. If you have a weakened, broken, or lost tooth, dental crowns and bridges offer reliable restorative solutions to restore both function and aesthetics. At Ratna Prabha Dental Clinic, we provide high-quality crowns and bridges that are custom-made to match the appearance of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless and durable restoration. Whether you need to strengthen a weakened tooth or replace missing teeth, our expert dental team can help you regain a healthy and confident smile.

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its strength, shape, and appearance. Crowns are commonly used for teeth that have undergone root canal treatment, have large fillings, or are severely cracked or broken. Made from high-quality materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of both, crowns are designed to withstand daily wear while providing a natural look.

Restorative Solutions for Damaged or Missing Teeth

The procedure typically requires two visits. During the first appointment, the tooth is reshaped, and an impression is taken to create a custom crown. A temporary crown is placed until the permanent one is ready. In the second visit, the permanent crown is securely bonded to the tooth, restoring its functionality and aesthetics.

A dental bridge, on the other hand, is used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth between two natural teeth or implants. The adjacent teeth, called abutments, are fitted with crowns that support the bridge, holding the artificial tooth (pontic) securely in place. Bridges help prevent teeth from shifting, maintain proper bite alignment, and restore the ability to chew and speak comfortably. The procedure for getting a bridge is similar to that of a crown and usually takes two or more visits to complete.

Both crowns and bridges offer several benefits, including improved appearance, restored function, and enhanced durability. Unlike removable dentures, bridges are fixed in place, offering greater stability and comfort. Modern crowns and bridges are designed to closely mimic natural teeth, ensuring a seamless and aesthetically pleasing result. With proper care, including regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups, they can last 10-15 years or more.
